specifications: all you need to know before booking

Letters from the Global South is a pop-up travelling exhibition that aims to introduce a general audience to the science behind the Climate and Nature (CAN) Bill and its principles of international fairness in a visually appealing, practical, and accessible manner. It was specifically designed to engage individuals who have never participated in climate and environmental campaigns.

The posters featured in the exhibition blend real-life accounts, images, and letters about climate change and the destruction of nature from communities worldwide, particularly those vulnerable to climate and ecological crises, with illustrated explanations of climate change and the role of nature in addressing it.

What the exhibition looks like

The exhibition has 40 posters:

  • 2 intro posters,
  • 9 posters with illustrated explanations of climate change (territorial and imported emissions, bio capacity, carbon sinks, carbon inequalities, climate impacts, aims of the Climate and Nature Bill),
  • 29 'country focus' posters with accounts, images and letters sent to us from school children and campaigners from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, South Africa and the UK.

The display boards

The exhibition dimensions are 1.8 metres in height and 4.5 metres in length when straight.

We offer two options, either borrowing the posters only or borrowing both the posters and the display. When you book, you will be asked which option you prefer.

If you choose to borrow the posters without the display unit, you will need to make alternative arrangements to display the posters.

How you will receive the display unit

We deliver it to you via a UK-wide delivery service in a large parcel weighing 25 kg, with dimensions of 100 cm in length, 70 cm in width, and 28 cm in height.

Before receiving the exhibition, we will send you a guide to assembling the exhibition and return information.

Loan Period

You can have the exhibition for up to a month, provided you have a plan for it. Some campaigners prefer it in one location for a couple of weeks, while others organise a tour of different locations in their town or region, so they prefer to book it for an entire month.

Promotion of your events

The grassroots and social media teams at Zero Hour can help organise press releases for your events, create printable promotional materials (posters, leaflets), and promote your events on the Zero Hour social media pages, the website and via targeted newsletters.

You can also ask us to invite Zero Hour campaigners in your constituency to get involved in the activities or simply to view the exhibition.

IS IT COMPLETELY FREE?

Yes, but we welcome borrowers to pay for return postage (approximately £20). Also, if you lose or break anything, we will ask you to contribute towards the replacement costs.
